Stop troubling students night and day!
Hello my dear friends! Last week we posted news for you about the struggle of IIT-B students against fee-hike. We also urged students from across the country to take inspiration from this struggle and start uniting against the injustices happening to them.
Looks like the spark is indeed ignited in the hearts of our dear student friends!
Around 60 students from the Karve Institute of Social Service-Pune rose in protest against the illegal fee-hike announced by the college. These students were boycotting classes since July 5th. Students, while taking admission in their first year, were promised a particular fee structure for their 2 year course. But at the end of first year the fee had been hiked by almost 55%. Not only this, the hostel fee had also been hiked. This is highly unfair and unjust for the students.
Students of Karve Institute met the Vice- Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and explained to him the issue of fee hike. As a result a letter was issued to the institute by SPPU wherein the fee hike was termed illegal and the institute was asked to roll back the hiked fees. But, the institute responded to SPPU by trying to justify the fee hike.
The students of Karve Institute are showing immense bravery and fighting against the unjust.
A few days ago another case, where there is almost 100% fee hike, was reported. This fee hike is supposed to be taking place in all private medical colleges. The fees of medical colleges are already quite hefty. And now there is going to be 100% hike to the already hefty amount!
We at SPARK urge all you students to take inspiration from the ongoing heroic struggles. Unite with every student, raise your voice till it is heard and fight for the right !!
