Subject : Condemning the arrest of research scholars in New Delhi on 16thJanuary 2019 and demanding fair hike in fellowship.

Dear Sir,

We the students of National Chemical Laboratory, stand in full solidarity of our fellow research scholars protesting in all parts of the country. The demands that we are all raising are fair and must be fulfilled. It is a sorry condition of the nation today that the brightest set of its youth has to come out on streets to demand its rights. Our fellow research scholars have been now protesting for last 8 months to demand what they deserve. Today we feel deeply hurt that the “SCHOLARS” who have been “AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS” are treated like criminals.

WE STRONGLY CONDEMN THE ARREST OF RESEARCH SCHOLARS IN NEW DELHI !!

We would like to bring into your notice that all the research scholars of this institute and every other institute of the nation will stand in solidarity against the anti- democratic steps taken against our fellow research scholars in New Delhi. And that our protest will not end till our just demands are fulfilled.

Our demands are as follows:

1. Uniform hike in PhD fellowships. The annual increment in the fellowship

   amount should be in accordance to the inflation, 80% this time.

2. The revised fellowship should be applicable from April 2018.

3. Timely and regular disbursement of fellowship.

It is now in your hands sir to see your research scholars rise to their full potential and bring fame to the institute or see us die demanding our rights inside the institute.
